You have the option of choosing between two different difficulty game play modes. I played through the entire game on easy mode along with the bonus level and found a couple puzzles that were quite difficult, so I can only imagine if you play this game on hard mode! The overall look and feel of the game is great and there are about three major cut screens that are live-action looking. While playing the HOG I found that at times I needed to click specifically on an object in order to trigger a response from the game which was frustrating at times. Overall, I highly recommend this game if you enjoy stories about witches since the game is part of a larger witch related series.
The collector's edition is a good investment if you play through the demo and enjoy the story otherwise I would only buy the standard edition since the bonus gameplay is related to the overall story but not neccessary. I'm looking forward to playing the next installment of this franchise. Rated 5 out of5 bycharlenelane fromOKAY, NOW I'M HOOKED REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUSRecently I bought 'Witches' Legacy - Ties that Bind' and then realised it was the fourth game in the series. Doh I thought. So I've now bought the earlier three games and have started at the beginning with this one. The other three are: Lair of the Queen Witch; Hunter and Hunted; and Ties that Bind.I'm going to be busy for a while! The main game is about rescuing Lynn from Elizabeth the witch and the bonus is about retrieving the amulet to make Lynn better again.Well, I loved it. It has everything that a fishy could want in a game.
There is:. Live actors (Lynn and Elizabeth);. Regular and Expert modes of play;. Voiceovers (with dialogue);.
Diary.Firstly, the graphics are generally okay. They are a bit grainy, but overall the colour is good and its easy to see everything as you move around locations.Sound is good.
The music is mainly organ pipes and orchestral. Its not creepy but its certainly somber and quite haunting. The music does repeat over and over again. I didn't turn it off, but I did turn it down. The hidden object games were very cluttered and some items were indecipherable to see. I think it was due to the colour rather than the objects themselves because they blended in so well. These were quite a challenge to do and there were a lot of them.
Some of them took me a while to get through, but I just nutted them out slowly.I enjoyed doing the mini-games. Some of these were rotating gems to their proper colour, moving the pins to the left side, playing a melody on the piano, arranging statues, using a pick to hit all the rocks and rotating stones into patterns. None of these were too hard or frustrating to do.There is a fair bit to do in this game and you are moving around to different locations a lot. Some newer/younger fishies might not like this without an interactive map, but for the old hard core fishies like myself, I remember when interactive maps hadn't been invented and we just had to rely on memory where items and tasks were to do. Just grab a notebook or piece of paper to help. All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours, so good value for money. So definitely recommended.
Witches Legacy: The Charleston Curse Collector's Edition
Its a bit old school but you have to start at the beginning to get the whole picture.Happy playing fishies. Rated 5 out of5 byFirehorse66 fromEnjoyable I loved the missing child drawings that came together to provide clues, that was different.
A lot of backtracking which came close to annoying, but I do love lots of areas to discover and places to go. A lot of HO piles which was almost too much, would rather have more interesting puzzles, I love the creative ones.Good story line. The bonus play was way too short so I don't think the CE was really worth it. Come on guys, for double the price? Any how, even though it was short it was fun.
I loved the little imp and how it comes into play, wish there was more of that in the game. Rated 5 out of5 byGemsQueen fromWow!
I just completed this game along with the bonus content. It took the better part of a day, (about 8 hrs, including a few breaks) Once I started this, I just had to keep going. These are the kind of games I love to play.I loved the animations and the graphics as well as the story. The music wasn't annoying either, although, I do keep it on the low side. There was so much to do.
Witches Legacy - The Charleston
Granted it is mainly HOG, (no complaints from me there), but there were actually quite a few mini games that were fun and challenging. I actually got frustrated with 2 of them and had to skip them. I will play this again and try to solve them. They were much harder than usual for me.There wasn't a map to follow, however the hint button duos as a directional. I really like that feature if there isn't a map, especially when there are so many ways to go.I bought Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse CE the week-end they had the CE sale.
I certainly hope you have more CE sales like that soon and more often. Even if I had paid the full price on this game, it would have been well worth the $.Kudos to all you BFG developers! Keep more of these coming.
If you played enough hidden object puzzle adventure genre games, you should have learned the dynamics of how it works in this realm. One of those things is that learning something surprisingly new about your family or distant relatives isn't always a good thing. Witches’ Legacy: The Charleston Curse is an example of this principle. The story is presented with very beautiful and impressive graphics. You play as the only living relative of an orphan girl.
