I want to know how some people did this, or do this if you make multiple games. Most people I would assume might try going through the deathclaws at the start to no prevail then just followed the games directions but I was wondering if anyone had another way to get there. My favourite way is to sneak in between the valley of deathclaws and black mountain then through hidden valley, after that it's a strait shot to the strip with at most a few raiders for enemies. I usually do the goodsprings Ringo quest or just go before that so I'm usually level 1 or 2 when I get there.
Do the kings quest and it boosts me to level 6 then I'm in New Vegas. The script trigger is for when you get low on health while in combat at several of the dangerous hotspots around Goodsprings (such as the Cazador-infested road leading north or the Radscorpion nest east of the graveyard). Simply passing through the area and not getting hurt enough.
Or dying immediately. You actually need to need his help for him to show up.He'll warn you of the dangers, just a bit too late, and then you can ask him how he knew you were in trouble. He catches on to when you get TOO curious and adjusts what he says, however, which foreshadows his later appearances. Generally, I follow the 'U-Bend Railroad' around the south end of the map. For veterans, this route will be boring and slow, but it's effective at building your character's resources safely and effectively regardless of your specializations.SPOILERS TO FOLLOW. YOU WERE WARNED.First, I pillage Goodsprings (snowglobe) and its cave and a few other minor sites in the surrounding area.

This gets me a bit of weaponry and some supplies to sell, and takes me out as far as the ambush at the campsite, Lone Wolf Radio, Jean Sky Diving, the Yangtze Memorial, the schoolhouse (props to etc. With those supplies, I usually skip Primm for later, but if I ended up with too much to sell to Chet and Trudy, I'll swing by and sell there too. We'll make a stop back by Primm once I can reliably sell all their goods at the Gun Runners. I stop in briefly just to get ED-E (and down two bandits) but I usually don't save anyone for now.Past Primm, we make the long haul all the way out to Mohave Outpost, sell and barter.
I don't generally stop in the locations along the road. Some are bandits (and I have little armor and weaponry, little health and low level) and others are Giant Radscorpions (as above, but worse). I usually help out the ranger at Mohave, unless I'm trying to be an asshole this time out. The ants are easy to down, and yield meat for hardcore mode.I sidle around the south edge of Nipton, not visiting the town hall until later.
There's a laser rifle there, if I'm an energy weapons guy. On the south edge of the road heading east out of town, there's an overlook over the bend in the road where the Vipers normally ambush you (and it's a good ambush, really) but they can easily be picked off from above on the southside ridge with a varmint gun if you know they're there. (And if you're planning to go Legion, there's a safehouse up there too, IIRC.)From there, it's a run up to Novac (get the hotel room, get money back, get Boone, sell Jeannie's stuff and empty the lobby). On the way there's a scripted ambush of merchant caravan by the Legion. I either help out the merchants (the golden rule: merchants have gold, that rules) or loot what's left. After Novac, there's Helios and the 188, but that's mostly just a stop-off to pick up the waypoint and sell if needed. We're basically to Vegas at this point - we head north through Fiend territory, pick up some better equipment by watching the NCR kill fiends and looting the bodies of both, stop by Gun Runners for the waypoint and one last merchant run, and we're outside Vegas.By this time, depending on how much scavenging and sneaking we've done, we're level 2 or so and should easily have the 2k for the entry check, so we're in without even having to try hard. When we walk in, we'll have 4k in caps from the two snowglobes, and 2k we brought to get in the door, so we'll be well on our way to 'buy anything we want'.
